72
Number — gematria and numerology meaning
Seventy-two is 6 × 12 and has several well-known uses. In Kabbalah the "72 names of God" are derived from three verses of Exodus 14, each of which has 72 letters in Hebrew. In astronomy, the apparent shift of the stars caused by the precession of the equinoxes is about one degree every 72 years, and in finance the "rule of 72" estimates how long money takes to double. It reduces to Nine in numerology.
The Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, takes its name from the Latin for seventy, though the legend in the Letter of Aristeas says it was made by seventy-two translators, six from each tribe.
