77
Number — gematria and numerology meaning
Seventy-seven repeats the number seven, which is among the most heavily used numbers in the Bible. In Genesis 4:24 Lamech vows vengeance "seventy and sevenfold," and in Matthew 18:22 Jesus tells Peter to forgive "seventy times seven," which some translations render as seventy-seven times. It reduces to Five in numerology, though 7 and 77 are more often read in terms of reflection.
Numerology writers read a doubled seven as an emphasis on the inner life: study, solitude and spiritual questions. That reading is a modern interpretation and not part of any older text.
